Essentials:

Good: Designate a current staff member who has a background as a first responder who understands the fundamentals of emergency response
Better: Contract with a school safety and security consultant or firm who can provide guidance or provide a “fractional” School Safety Director
Best: Hire a full-time dedicated School Safety Director who owns and implements safety and security programs.
